International advisory and design consultancy, Hyder Consulting, today announced the acquisition of Crescent PSS Pty Ltd.

Crescent, based in Victoria and operating internationally and Australia-wide, provides strategic advisory and project management services to the resources and industry sectors.

Keith Reynolds, Regional Managing Director of Hyder in Australasia, said The acquisition of Crescent is an important step in Hyder's growth initiatives into the buoyant Industry and Resources sector.

Crescent brings 70 professionals with strong project delivery and management skills into the Hyder group. Crescent also brings to Hyder close working relationships with major clients and partners in the Resources sector. Equally, Hyder can now offer Crescent's clients increased levels of project management and planning support and an in-house engineering capability.

This is a landmark in the life of Crescent, said Crescent Chairman Terry Carmichael.

Many of our clients are multinational and we have developed strong relationships through our high quality service. With Hyder we will be in a position to react to the broader needs of these clients beyond our immediate geographic limits of Australia and South East Asia.

Our acquisition by Hyder will enable us to offer our existing clients a more comprehensive and coordinated range of services particularly in the areas of heavy engineering, environmental and advisory services.

Terry Carmichael, principal founder of Crescent, will continue to occupy a key role in the organisation.

Crescent will continue to trade under that name as a Hyder Consulting company.
